About Us

Feed The Hungry

Sierra Leone
Feed the Hungry – Sierra Leone is a non-profit anti-hunger organization that works directly with development partners locally and across the globe. Established in 2021; the organization is formed by strong team of proactive, professional Sierra Leoneans who are convinced that development does not lie in the hands of the government alone, but also in the hands of its people.
The overarching goal of FTH-SL is to contribute to the global development agenda of achieving ‘’zero hunger’’ and to increase the capacity of vulnerable groups in Sierra Leone through formal and vocational training. It is our conviction that the fight against hunger can be won with collective participation, determination and strategic approach.
Our approach is a self-sustaining model whereby we’ll feed the needy through our produce. In order words we’ll ensure that at least 50% of what we’ll be consuming (Rice, Groundnut, Garden Eggs, and pepper) will be coming from our farm through our agricultural initiative.
Also, because of the unprecedented intake and abuse of hard substance especially ‘’Kush’’, we have set up to provide public health education and rehabilitation program for our young people who are losing traction of their lives and are in dire need of redirection. We consider the consumption of hard-substance as a public health emergency and effort must be made to concentrate resource, and forestall its awful impacts on our young people.
In addition to the above, civic participation, diversity and inclusion makes up the rest of our program portfolio. We believe that the vulnerable group are excluded or are excluding themselves for public or national issues and we have reservations to that. We are also keen on creating space for everyone regardless of their belief /value systems, creed, gender identity, skin color, age, political persuasion and ethnic standings. We believe the right to a dignified life must be made sacrosanct.
We are motivated to continue engaging stakeholders, to build the buoyancy needed to tackle the dire condition of hunger, the menace of substance abuse, the apathy around civic participation and exclusion of the vulnerable community from civic participation.
We believe that through our feeding program, we’ll be able to attract the neediest and most talented from amongst the vulnerable community, and incorporate them into the best fit program and set them on the trajectory to a dignified life.
